Conditions We Treat At Point Cook (Boardwalk Blvd).
From arthritic conditions and joint pain, to headaches and post-operative rehabilitation. Call us today on (03) 9395 2048 to better understand how we can assist you on your road to recovery!
^Treatment will differ client-to-client. Please call your local practice for more information.
Back and neck pain is one of the most common complaints at our practice. Sitting at a computer can often cause neck pain with accompanying headaches, shoulder tightness, back pain and buttock or leg pain. We can help treat these problems.
We can treat pain and stiffness in the chest, thoracic spine and rib areas. We can also advise in relaxed breathing exercises.
Growing pains are caused when bones grow quickly, and the soft tissues struggle to keep up. Children and teenagers usually respond very quickly to treatment. If they continue to complain about persistent pain, medical assessment may be necessary.
Headaches and migraines are often triggered by neck pain or stiffness. Our physiotherapists can offer relief through treatment, along with strategies to help minimise the headaches. Combining treatment with a customised physiotherapy exercise program or dry-needling can also be helpful.
Most joint strains respond well to physiotherapy, enabling faster returns to sports, work, and normal daily activities. We commonly treat sprained ankles, sore knees, painful shoulders, tennis elbow, sprained wrists and fingers, SIJ problems, hip joint, groin pain and jaw pain.
Whether the cause is a sudden tear, a strain, or a muscle imbalance issue, physiotherapy can help by promoting efficient healing, assisting strong scar tissue formation, or strengthening and stretching affected muscles.
Overuse injuries generally respond well to physiotherapy, but the key is to get treatment early rather than put up with the pain. Problems such as RSI, tennis elbow and Achilles tendinopathy (a tendon injury) can heal quickly with a specific exercise prog
Many people will experience osteoarthritis as they age, but the severity can vary from morning stiffness and occasional painful episodes to debilitating pain. Physiotherapy can offer immense improvement and, in many cases, complete and long-lasting relief from pain. Strengthening the muscles is paramount to aging joints to keep them moving in an ideal alignment to reduce pain and improve function.
The pelvic floor is the group of muscles at the base of your pelvis, stretching right across from your pubic bone to your tailbone and side-to-side. Treatment involves teaching you basic pelvic floor exercises, advice on good bladder habits and, if necessary, advice on bladder re-training.
Pain in the body is often the result of poor posture. We can assist you or your children in improving the body's posture by showing you how to stretch tight muscles, strengthen weak muscles and improve endurance in these muscles. We are experts in core stability, utilising the deep muscles in your torso and neck to help hold you in a good posture.
Our physiotherapists are experienced in treating all types of sporting injuries. We treat problems including patellofemoral pain, hip and groin problems, bursitis and associated tendinopathy, tennis elbow, wrist and ankle sprains, and plantar fasciitis.
Our experienced Physiotherapists have a range of sub-specialities, which include chronic pain management. We understand the complex nature of chronic pain and the need for a multidisciplinary, biopsychosocial approach. Treatment is tailored and includes education regarding your condition, hands-on therapy, and graded progression of return to functional activities.
Our physiotherapists are trained to perform specialised manoeuvres to assist with dizziness and vertigo. If it is appropriate, you will be given an exercise program that you can do at home. These exercises are individually tailored to your balance symptoms and effectively reduce dizzy symptoms.
